FINANCE

The University of Mount Olive, Tillman School of Business (TSB) invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, Finance Faculty position. The Tillman School of Business (TSB) undergraduate programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Finance is one of several areas that compose the business core in TSB. Finance courses are taught online and at the main campus in Mount Olive, NC with courses offered at seven regional campuses, as well as in the MBA program.

Position Description:
Preference will be given to applicants that have qualifications that enable them to teach in areas of marketing and experience and/or certifications that allow application of data analytics and problem-solving skills in those areas. The ideal candidate will be interested in research as well as applying what he/she teaches. Responsibilities include teaching a combination of undergraduate and graduate MBA courses in marketing and related subject areas, four courses in fall and spring semesters, respectively. Faculty are required to be contributing members of the department, school and university.

BIOLOGY

The University of Mount Olive has an opening for an Assistant to the President. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

– Provides direct assistance to the President in confidential matters.
– Assumes responsibility for designated duties and tasks with minimal supervision.
– Serves as Secretary on the Executive Council.

LEARNING COMMONS RETENTION COORDINATOR-ARC

The University of Mount Olive has an opening for a Learning Commons Coordinator-ARC

Responsibilities includes:
-Serve as an initial point of contact for students entering the Academic Resource Center and Learning Commons
– Ensure students are using the TutorTrac kiosk
– Oversight over Learning Commons common area
– Coordinate programming for targeted retention strategies for traditional students, i.e. Learning Accountability Program, Supplemental Instruction, and tutoring services at all locations
– Supervise and assist with training of student workers
– Oversee logistics and coordinate student success workshops to support student retention
– Facilitate in-class presentations and workshops on a variety of student success topics
– Monitor Starfish to ensure all retention alerts are addressed by the Learning Commons team in a timely manner
– Identify students who need academic support, tutoring, and/or career guidance and refer to appropriate Learning Commons areas
– Provide advising support for LAP conditional admission and probation students
– Communicate with a cohort of LAP conditional admission and probation students about admission/probation agreements requirements
– Assist in the development of LAP academic plans for a cohort of conditional admission and probation students

– Assist Learning Commons Team on data entry/retrieval for TutorTrac

DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL FUND

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Full-time Director of Annual Fund in the Institutional Advancement Office. This is a full-time non-exempt position which reports directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Works closely and cooperatively with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and all other Institutional Advancement Directors to coordinate comprehensive approach to the identification, cultivation and solicitation of targeted donors and/or potential donors to maximize giving and participation rates and encourage UMO Society membership.
  • Develop a coordinated calendar of annual solicitations for all constituencies.
  • Directs the faculty and staff solicitation program.
  • Directs the UMO Business Friends discount program.
  • Fosters a donor-centered office and assists with donor relations and stewardship
  • Develops annual giving strategies with Institutional Advancement Office
  • Develops and provide leadership to active phonathon program utilizing students and parent volunteers for alumni, parents and grandparents.
  • Works closely with Alumni Director to assist in the development of building relationships with nontraditional alumni, frequently visiting all UMO locations, conversing with location directors, attending special event at all UMO locations and imploring creative methods for communication and cultivation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required plus 3 to 5 years’ fund raising experience. Strong computer skills with knowledge of “The Raiser’s Edge” platform preferred. MAIL ROOM ATTENDANT

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Mail Room Attendant.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Pick up and drop off University mail at the local Post Office
  • Sort mail and place in assigned mail boxes
  • Receive in-coming mail letters/packages from UPS, FedEx and other delivery vendors

ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER DIRECTOR

The Learning Commons at the University of Mount Olive invites applications for the full-time position Director the Academic Resource Center (ARC) beginning July, 2019. The director is responsible to lead the ARC tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and other academic support programs for both traditional and adult/online students. This will be full-time, 12-months, administrative position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the Learning Common’s Academic Resource Center.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate academic support programs including, but not limited to, Supplemental Instruction, Learning Accountability Program, Peer Tutoring, and Clinics.
  • Teach Principles of Peer Learning – CRLA Level 1 training course (1 credit hour).
  • Supervises the Learning Commons’ Retention Coordinator and student tutors, peer mentors, and clinic leaders.
  • Develop and manage the assigned ARC budget.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree required in Education or Psychology or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating an academic assistance program in a higher education setting preferred.

VISUAL / GRAPHIC DESIGNER II

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for a Visual / Graphic Designer II.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, analyzing, and creating visual solutions to communications problems, creating visual design for digital and print needs, including marketing and campaign materials, advertisements, magazines, event graphics, flyers, brochures, programs, posters, newsletters, invitations, envelopes, stationery, reports, and web banners.

This position requires a creative mind and strong eye for design elements, coupled with demonstrated artistic ability, creativity, and the ability to explain design thinking. Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, strong organizational skills, excellent communication and computer skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team, coupled with strong project management skills and ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and tasks and prioritize based on project deadlines while continuing to relate positively to others and receive constructive criticism is a must.
