Each position will indicate the minimum educational requirements. University of Mount Olive promotes active learning modes, experiential learning, and student engagement. All positions start on August 1, 2018. Teaching responsibilities will include four classes in fall and spring semester under a nine-month contract (12 load hours per semester).

SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

 BIOLOGY

The Department of Biological and Physical Sciences at the University of Mount Olive seeks to fill a position in the area of Biology.  The position will be full-time, 9-month beginning August 2019. The ideal candidate would be able to teach lectures and labs in microbiology, molecular and cell biology, botany, the freshman general biology sequence, and non-majors courses as well as engage undergraduate students in research projects. The candidate is also expected to participate in scholarship and service to the department, school, and community. Demonstrated success as an instructor of record and in applying innovative teaching techniques is preferred.  Review of applications will begin in January 2019 and continue until position is filled.

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOLOGY

The position will be full-time for the Spring semester, beginning January of 2019. STAFF & ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, TILLMAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Tillman School of Business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides assistance and support first and foremost the Office of the Dean, and secondly to Department Chairs, in problem solving, project planning and management, and time-management.
  • Performs research and analysis on specific issues, as required, and with guidance prepares non-routine letters and/or reports, which may be confidential in nature.
  • Serves as a designated point of administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of issues.
  • Organizes and coordinates meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and other special events, as required.
  • Maintains calendar and schedule of appointments and manages the travel schedule including flight and hotel arrangements for the offices of the Dean and Department Chairs.
  • Manages databases and files for offices of the Dean and Department Chairs and provides routine reports.
  • Review vendor contracts.
  • Manages routine requisitions, purchasing of office supplies and equipment, and performing other office functions in accordance with UMO policies.
  • Prepare/distribute minutes and meeting notes.
  • Serves as a designated interface (point of contact) between the Dean and Tillman School of Business Board of Advisors.
  • Provides direct staff support to the Dean, to include greeting and assisting visitors, handling phone calls and inquiries, scheduling and maintaining calendars and travel arrangements, screening, analyzing, and preparing responses to incoming correspondence, handling day-to-day public relations and assisting in problem solving.
  • Assists in background research, planning, coordination and completion of special projects on an as required basis.
  • From time to time provides direct supervision of student helpers.
  • Identify and attend trainings, workshops and seminars to keep skills current and remain abreast of student life and student affairs issues as they relate to the job responsibilities of the position.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree required, Bachelor degree preferred or a combination of similar work experience in an office, school (preferably college), or other administrative situation is required. Three to five years of progressively responsible office experience. TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Technology Support Technician at the Mount Olive location.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.
  • Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal through ticketing system.
  • Establish and enforce Help Desk service level agreements in consultation with end users to establish problem resolution expectations and timeframes.
  • Manage the processing of incoming calls to the Help Desk via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
  • Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Oversee development and dissemination of help sheets, usage guides, and FAQ lists for end users
  • Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
  • Supervise contract-based installations. If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Liaise with, and provide training and support to, end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.
  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs.
  • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Track and analyze trends in Help Desk requests and generate statistical reports.
  • Identify problem areas and devise deliverable solutions to enhance quality of service and to prevent future problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree in an Information Technology related field or 3 years computer technical service experience. DIRECTOR OF ADULT AND GRADUATE ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Director of Adult and Graduate Enrollment Management at the Research Triangle Park location.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage, refine, and adjust internal enrollment processes and the associated business rules
  • Ensure compliance with process and business rules by all Adult and Graduate Program Enrollment Staff
  • Maintain timelines and integrity of student records and university databases in order to ensure complete accuracy for local records, as well as state and federal reporting, accreditation, and verification of any missing documents
  • Manage the internal enrollment team to proficiency and continued improvement on the key enrollment metrics including the following: Response Rate (percentage of new leads that receive a telephone response within one hour), Reach Rate (percentage of good leads contacted), Prospect Touch Rate (average number of contact attempts), Application Rate (percentage of good leads who completed any application), Conversion Rate (percentage of good leads who started their program),and Pipeline Velocity (rate of movement through the pipeline)
  • Provide direct coaching to adult and graduate enrollment staff focusing on their ability to employ the relationship sales approach with prospective and current students
  • Design, implement, and refine training programs for all internal adult and graduate enrollment staff
  • Collect and analyze data to make data-driven decisions, assess recruitment efforts and adapt innovative

  • Participate in University department meetings and training as appropriate
  • Identify, recruit, interview and guide staff (hire with concurrence of HR Director, Associate Vice President and President)

Minimum Qualifications:

Advanced degree (or significant experience) required, terminal degree preferred. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication and computer skills, and the ability to work productively with all members of the university.  Four plus years of professional experience working with adult education, training, customer support, marketing, public relations, online systems or related area. Sales management experience strongly preferred.

ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE

The University of Mount Olive at Mount Olive location has an opening for an Admissions Representative.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Nurture, build and sustain ongoing professional relationships with prospective students and those who influence them to achieve assigned enrollment management objectives within allocated travel and spending budget by moving students and their parents to progressively higher levels of interest and commitment to enrollment at University of Mount Olive
  • Meet or exceed all enrollment goals consistently
  • Know and be able to clearly explain all aspects of the University of Mount Olive Mission Statement
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of all UMO academic offerings, the catalog and all brochures, scholarship information, University support systems and their procedures
  • Compare and evaluate appropriate recruitment history and courses of action concerning the distinctive aspects of assigned territories, including but not limited to sources of students, preferences of students, and sources of competition located in the territory
  • Formulate and determine what works best for the assigned territories, evaluate the potential for travel and programs in the territory, develop a plan to achieve the enrollment objectives for the territory and make decisions for achievement of territorial enrollment objectives
  • Present the plan for the Director’s approval and execute the approved plan within the approved budget
  • Monitor and analyze data showing performance for high schools and/or community colleges in the territory, evaluate possible courses of action and execute a plan that focuses on high schools that should receive more attention than others
  • Represent University of Mount Olive to prospective students through individual appointments, phone calls, education days, open houses, and group meetings
  • Regularly monitor the inquiry, hot prospect, application and deposit numbers from the assigned territory, compare and evaluate possible courses of action to maximize the achievement of enrollment goals for the assigned territory
  • Strategically determine the next best source and means of institutional contact for each of the hot prospects in the assigned territory
  • Continually re-qualify the inquiry pool, so that those inquiries most likely to enroll are the ones being contacted on a regular basis. Contact hot prospects at least once per week
  • Monitor the receipt of applications from the assigned territory and see that those most likely to enroll are being contacted at least once a week.
  • Ensure that all inbound and outbound communication with prospects and applicants is accurately recorded in a timely manner in the University of Mount Olive computer system
  • Evaluate applications for admissions from the assigned territory making each admit/reject decision using discretionary professional judgment about the applicant’s academic preparation, academic work ethic, and fit for the academic programs at University of Mount Olive
  • Formulate and determine the best way to provide informational assistance to students and/or parents in completing financial aid forms, institutional scholarship applications, payment plans and loans
  • Award institutional scholarships for academic, leadership, church affiliation and need based programs using professional judgment about applicant’s eligibility and ability to meet the requirements for continued participation.
  • Coordinate institutional award decisions with the total financial aid package for new students in the assigned territory, working with families and their financial aid counselor
  • Document activity and decisions about applications for admissions and institutional awards from the assigned territory in accordance with established standards
  • Complete and collect all required forms for the student’s file.
  • Assist the director of marketing in the creation of ideas for literature, displays, promotional materials and programs for use in recruitment.
  • Assist in the direction and planning of admissions activities such as school visitation, college/day night programs, visitation days, telephoning, home visits, church related activities, and additional activities as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
  • Contribute toward team achievement of college wide enrollment management objectives by planning and executing assigned professional expertise projects supporting specific functions needed by all territory admissions representatives
  • Cultivate alumni, parents, guidance counselors and other constituencies in the territory to assist with the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate the recruitment of major pipeline programs with appropriate directors, faculty, financial aid and admissions personnel; assist with the training of student volunteers

DIRECTOR OF FOUNDATIONS AND SPONSORED PROGRAMS

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for Director of Foundations and Sponsored Programs.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting a full range of activities to research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals
  • Overseeing all pre and post-award grant activities including government, corporate, and foundation, to assure compliance, budgetary appropriateness, and reporting requirements.
  • Providing information regarding grant opportunities to Vice President of Institutional Advancement, directors, administration, and faculty.
  • Serves as back up for Director of Donor Services-
  • Receive and record gifts made to the University and prepare daily gift reports and donor acknowledgements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Experience with foundations and grants preferred. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising database and Foundation Search preferred but not required. A portfolio of successful grants is a plus. PART TIME OPEN POSITIONS

BUS DRIVER
