TSB Certification

The University of Mount Olive is proud to offer the SAS Joint Certification, a series of four courses preparing students for success in a data-rich world.  SAS, a global leader in business analytics, data warehousing, and data mining, offers students an opportunity to gain a competitive advantage in today’s job market.  Courses, documented using SAS software, prepare students to solve real-world business problems.

Any Tillman School of Business student at the University of Mount Olive is eligible to add this certification to their course of study.  Certification courses will be considered as general electives on the degree sheet.  Students will not be eligible for financial aid unless enrolled in a degree-seeking program along with this certification.  All courses are completely online.

Courses include:

• BUS 361 Data Preparation and Analysis with SAS
• BUS 363 Text Mining and Analytics
• BUS 367 Quality Management and Analytics
• BUS 463 Predictive Modeling I

Open to Tillman School of Business Majors.  Requires completion of several online modules. 

Description:  Designed to help identify ethical issues, learn how to respond to ethical dilemmas and enhance ethical decision-making abilities.

Open to Healthcare Management majors. Requires completion of several online modules.  

Description: Earning the certification in Quality and Safety improves knowledge and skills.  Individuals delve into topics including the components which may compromise patient safety, the aftermath of adverse events, and how to make positive changes in local settings.

Open to Computer Information Systems majors who complete required courses and pass SAS examination.  

Description:  Designed for individuals who can manipulate and gain insights from big data with a variety of SAS and open source tools, make business recommendations with complex learning models, and then deploy models at scale using the SAS environment.

Open to all BUS 250 students who complete required course and pass Business Communications certification examination.

Description:  In conjunction with Precision Exams, UMO offers a certification in Business Communications, helping students build upon skills focusing on professional communication. Throughout the semester, competency is developed in oral, written, interpersonal, technological, and employment communication skills. At the end of the semester, students will have the opportunity to successfully complete an examination resulting in a certification in Business Communications.
