In 1951, Mount Olive Junior College was established with only $6.17. Although they had little money, they were rich in faith, motivation, and dedication! That spirit of determination is what has made the University of Mount Olive the success it is today.
Having graduated from UMO in the past 10 years, you are eligible to become a member of the $6.17 Young Alumni Society. To become a member you only need to contribute $6.17 per month to UMO. This amount signifies the courage and sacrifice that has been made to translate the vision of a college into reality. Much like our founders, your gift will be a testament to your positive experience at UMO and your willingness to pay it forward for current and future students.

Eligibility
The $6.17 Young Alumni Society is open to all UMO graduates from the past 10 years. If you’ve earned your degree from the University of Mount Olive within the last decade, you are eligible to become a member.
Membership is activated with a recurring monthly gift of $6.17 via automatic draft—honoring the same dollar amount that launched this university over 70 years ago.
