Sadie Robertson-Huff to Deliver University of Mount Olive Commencement Address

MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive has announced that Sadie Robertson-Huff will be its May 2024 commencement speaker.

Robertson-Huff was first seen on the popular TV show “Duck Dynasty,” and later appeared on “Dancing with the Stars.”  Since then, Robertson-Huff has used her platform to share the gospel and encourage others to live lives dedicated to Christ.

Robertson-Huff is a speaker, New York Times Best-Selling Author, Influencer, and Founder of Live Original.  Communicating as a sister and friend, Robertson-Huff is on a mission to use her influence to reach her generation with the message of Christ. Robertson-Huff is the host of the popular podcast WHOA, That’s Good, which reaches millions of listeners each month. Her Live Original Blog features encouraging and transparent messages from Huff and her closest friends. She is also the host of her online community and Ap, LO Sister, which is designed to cultivate sisterhood through Bible studies and workshops.

This past fall, UMO students watched a premiere of the movie, The Blind, depicting the life and spiritual journey of Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson, Sadie’s grandfather. Following the screening, 11 students gave their lives to Christ and 30 students were baptized.  In the months since, more than UMO 50 students have made a profession of faith.

“Having Sadie Robertson-Huff speak at our commencement is icing on the cake,” said University of Mount Olive President Dr. H. Edward Croom.  “God is moving on our campus and I can think of no better person to share her testimony and witness with our graduates than Mrs. Robertson-Huff.  I am certain that the graduating class of 2024 will gain great insights from her message and perspective.”

Over 300 bachelor and master’s degree students from the University’s three schools will participate in the spring commencement.  These students hail from three continents, four countries, and 16 states.  The University’s 70th commencement ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024, at 9:30 AM. The event will be for graduates and their ticketed guests.
