BA Business Analytics
The Bachelor of Arts in Business Analytics, offered through the University of Mount Olive’s Robert L. Tillman School of Business, is tailored to working adults. The transfer-friendly degree program can be completed 100% online. Business analytics, the transformation of data into useful information, is one of the fastest-growing career fields worldwide and is applicable to every career field. Businesses and their management teams employ analytics to make informed business decisions that impact each organizational function: finance, operations, marketing, human resources, information technology, we well as research and development.

The Business Analytics program is unique for its industry leadership and curriculum. UMO’s Tillman School of Business offered the first baccalaureate business degree in business analytics in North Carolina. Moreover, UMO’s Business Analytics curriculum was one of the first programs worldwide to collaborate with the SAS institute to integrate a SAS Joint Certificate into its curriculum.
- The BA provides an expedited path for students interested in pursuing the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.
- Students may also petition to receive Experiential Learning Credit (ELC) for the knowledge, training, and skills they previously learned outside of the traditional academic setting.
Graduates with a Business Analytics degree will be able to (a) perform data mining and analyses, (b) construct, evaluate, interpret, and compare inferential models, (c) transform big data into valuable insights/information used for data-driven business decision-making, and (d) accurately interpret and effectively communicate findings/results in business reports.
An integral part of the Business Analytics Curriculum is the joint certificate offered in coordination with the SAS Institute in Cary, NC.
A Business Analytics minor is also available, comprised of six courses that include the four courses that constitute the SAS Join Certificate. By earning a Business Analytics minor , you will concurrently earn a Certificate in Business Analytics.
