The University of Mount Olive, Tillman School of Business (TSB) invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, Finance Faculty position. The Tillman School of Business (TSB) undergraduate programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Finance is one of several areas that compose the business core in TSB. Finance courses are taught online and at the main campus in Mount Olive, NC with courses offered at seven regional campuses, as well as in the MBA program.

Position Description:
Preference will be given to applicants that have qualifications that enable them to teach in areas of marketing and experience and/or certifications that allow application of data analytics and problem-solving skills in those areas. The ideal candidate will be interested in research as well as applying what he/she teaches. DIRECTOR OF INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
The School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Mount Olive and the Department of Music invites applications for the full-time position Director of Instrumental Music beginning August, 2019. The School expects the successful applicant to strengthen and direct the Symphonic Band/Orchestra and develop and direct the UMO Pep Band. This will be full-time, 9.5-months, faculty position.

Position Summary:
– 24-hour faculty work load per academic year, which includes Directing Symphonic Band, the Pep Band, private lessons, and other course offerings in the Music Department
– Programs symphonic ensemble performances for events on and off campus
– Recruits instrumental performers to the institution through high school and community college connections
– Travel to high schools, community colleges, and band clinics/festivals.

STUDENT ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE
The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Student Account Representative at the Mount Olive location. This is a Full-time non-exempt position which reports directly to the Director of Student Accounts.

Responsibilities Include:
– Participate in the planning processes for the collection of long-term and short-term university student debts, which includes compliance with university policies, Federal Financial Aid Title IV Regulations, and Federal and State law.
– Prepares and reviews student financial accounts including charges, payments and collections, error detection and correction.
– Reviews accounts on a weekly basis to ensure refunds are processed within requirements set forth by the Dept. of Education and university policy.
– Attends and/or represents the university in meetings regarding the collection of current student debt.
– Respond to billing inquiries through explanation of applicable university policies, as well as federal and state laws.
– Determine when to place or release financial holds on student transcripts and registration.
– Maintains accuracy and consistency in collection of student and non-student debts and administers refund policy for student and employee withdrawal from classes.
– Maintains timely correspondence through billing notices, letters, and phone calls with students, parents, and third parties regarding bad debts and returned checks.
– Manages third party billing and tuition payment for student accounts.
– Serves as resource to and liaison with university departments and outside agencies and organizations; provides information and reports relative to billing and receivable records as appropriate.

Bachelor’s degree required, with at least 2 years of relevant professional work experience in higher education, accounts receivable, customer service or related area preferred.

Responsibilities Include:
Conducting a full range of activities to research, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals

ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE
The University of Mount Olive RTP Education Center has openings for two Admissions Representatives.

Hours of operations are Mon -Thurs 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Friday 8 AM – 5:00 PM

The Admissions Representative is responsible for (a) enrolling appropriate students in University offerings, (b) creating a distinctively positive enrollment experience for all prospective students, and (c) setting and modeling high service standards for timeliness and helpfulness. This involves identifying the prospective student’s goals, objections, and any obstacles which may prevent their academic success, articulating a response to them that addresses these, assisting them through the point of matriculation, and finally, ensuring a smooth hand-off to the advising unit after the student starts classes.

Role Responsibilities:
– Respond to new inquiries within the specified time frame.
– Advance prospective students through the stages of enrollment.
– Construct genuine relationships with prospective students.
– Complete the application files of assigned prospective students.
– Admit appropriate students according to relevant guidelines.
– Confirm payment arrangements for assigned students’ first term.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Nurture, build and sustain ongoing professional relationships with prospective students and those who influence them to achieve assigned enrollment management objectives within allocated travel and spending budget by moving students and their parents to progressively higher levels of interest and commitment to enrollment at University of Mount Olive
  • Meet or exceed all enrollment goals consistently
  • Know and be able to clearly explain all aspects of the University of Mount Olive Mission Statement
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of all UMO academic offerings, the catalog and all brochures, scholarship information, University support systems and their procedures
  • Compare and evaluate appropriate recruitment history and courses of action concerning the distinctive aspects of assigned territories, including but not limited to sources of students, preferences of students, and sources of competition located in the territory
  • Formulate and determine what works best for the assigned territories, evaluate the potential for travel and programs in the territory, develop a plan to achieve the enrollment objectives for the territory and make decisions for achievement of territorial enrollment objectives

  • Strategically determine the next best source and means of institutional contact for each of the hot prospects in the assigned territory
  • Continually re-qualify the inquiry pool, so that those inquiries most likely to enroll are the ones being contacted on a regular basis. Contact hot prospects at least once per week
  • Monitor the receipt of applications from the assigned territory and see that those most likely to enroll are being contacted at least once a week.
  • Ensure that all inbound and outbound communication with prospects and applicants is accurately recorded in a timely manner in the University of Mount Olive computer system
  • Evaluate applications for admissions from the assigned territory making each admit/reject decision using discretionary professional judgment about the applicant’s academic preparation, academic work ethic, and fit for the academic programs at University of Mount Olive
  • Formulate and determine the best way to provide informational assistance to students and/or parents in completing financial aid forms, institutional scholarship applications, payment plans and loans
  • Award institutional scholarships for academic, leadership, church affiliation and need based programs using professional judgment about applicant’s eligibility and ability to meet the requirements for continued participation.
  • Coordinate institutional award decisions with the total financial aid package for new students in the assigned territory, working with families and their financial aid counselor
  • Document activity and decisions about applications for admissions and institutional awards from the assigned territory in accordance with established standards
  • Complete and collect all required forms for the student’s file.
  • Assist the director of marketing in the creation of ideas for literature, displays, promotional materials and programs for use in recruitment.
  • Assist in the direction and planning of admissions activities such as school visitation, college/day night programs, visitation days, telephoning, home visits, church related activities, and additional activities as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
  • Contribute toward team achievement of college wide enrollment management objectives by planning and executing assigned professional expertise projects supporting specific functions needed by all territory admissions representatives
  • Cultivate alumni, parents, guidance counselors and other constituencies in the territory to assist with the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate the recruitment of major pipeline programs with appropriate directors, faculty, financial aid and admissions personnel; assist with the training of student volunteers

VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADULT AND  GRADUATE PROGRAMS
The University of Mount Olive is seeking a Vice President for Adult and Graduate Programs. This is a full time, exempt position. The vice president of adult and graduate program will provide visionary, results-oriented leadership to the institution.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
– Provides vision and executive leadership for the Adult and Graduate Programs Division’s academic programs and associated comprehensive program of services, policies, and procedures. – Makes recommendations to the President regarding selection, evaluation, retention, promotion, and professional development of full-time and part-time staff and faculty for the Adult and Graduate Studies Division.
– Creates and implements degree programs across a variety of delivery modalities, including online, to serve the Adult and Graduate markets. – Ensures accreditation policies and processes are followed.
– Effectively markets programs for increased enrollment. – Directs academic program assessment for the Division.
– Develops the Adult and Graduate Programs division’s strategic financial plan, revenue forecast, and budgets.
– Mediates conflicts that may arise in the academic area of the Adult and Graduate Programs Division.
– Serves as a member of Executive Council and represents the Division on other University committees.
– Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for this division, directly supervising employees in accordance with University policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
– Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as required to meet the needs and growth of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree or equivalent in a major academic or higher education leadership discipline with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in higher education leadership. LEARNING COMMONS RETENTION COORDINATOR-ARC

The University of Mount Olive has an opening for a Learning Commons Coordinator-ARC

Responsibilities includes:
-Serve as an initial point of contact for students entering the Academic Resource Center and Learning Commons
– Ensure students are using the TutorTrac kiosk
– Oversight over Learning Commons common area
– Coordinate programming for targeted retention strategies for traditional students, i.e. Learning Accountability Program, Supplemental Instruction, and tutoring services at all locations
– Supervise and assist with training of student workers
– Oversee logistics and coordinate student success workshops to support student retention
– Facilitate in-class presentations and workshops on a variety of student success topics
– Monitor Starfish to ensure all retention alerts are addressed by the Learning Commons team in a timely manner
– Identify students who need academic support, tutoring, and/or career guidance and refer to appropriate Learning Commons areas
– Provide advising support for LAP conditional admission and probation students
– Communicate with a cohort of LAP conditional admission and probation students about admission/probation agreements requirements
– Assist in the development of LAP academic plans for a cohort of conditional admission and probation students
– Facilitate use of instructional technology (i.e. Google Docs, Starfish, TutorTrac, Zoom) across all locations
– Assist Learning Commons Team on data entry/retrieval for TutorTrac
– Create online Learning Commons resources, blog/newsletter, and maintain ARC and Learning Commons social media websites
– Act as a campus liaison for the Learning Commons, including participating in campus events (ARC/Learning Commons Representative, Trojan First)
– Handle correspondence (email, telephone, mail) of the Learning Commons
– Assist Learning Commons Dean with additional Learning Commons related tasks (i.e. Starfish)
– Other duties maybe assigned by the supervisor as required to meet the needs and growth of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Psychology required.
– 1 to 3 years of work experience/training as an undergraduate tutor, SI instructor, or LAP mentor
– Some supervisory experience preferred

DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL FUND

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Full-time Director of Annual Fund in the Institutional Advancement Office. This is a full-time non-exempt position which reports directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Works closely and cooperatively with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and all other Institutional Advancement Directors to coordinate comprehensive approach to the identification, cultivation and solicitation of targeted donors and/or potential donors to maximize giving and participation rates and encourage UMO Society membership.
  • Develop a coordinated calendar of annual solicitations for all constituencies.
  • Directs the faculty and staff solicitation program.
  • Directs the UMO Business Friends discount program.
  • Fosters a donor-centered office and assists with donor relations and stewardship
  • Develops annual giving strategies with Institutional Advancement Office
  • Develops and provide leadership to active phonathon program utilizing students and parent volunteers for alumni, parents and grandparents.
  • Works closely with Alumni Director to assist in the development of building relationships with nontraditional alumni, frequently visiting all UMO locations, conversing with location directors, attending special event at all UMO locations and imploring creative methods for communication and cultivation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required plus 3 to 5 years’ fund raising experience. Strong computer skills with knowledge of “The Raiser’s Edge” platform preferred. Strong organization, communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
