DIRECTOR OF PRE-LICENSURE NURSING

The Division of Nursing at the University of Mount Olive seeks applications for a Director of Pre-Licensure Nursing to join our faculty at the main campus in Mount Olive, North Carolina. We are seeking an individual with the vision and skills to build a program in pre-licensure nursing.

The position will be full-time faculty position, beginning in January, 2020.

Requirements:

  • Teach 12 credit hours per semester which may include traditional, non-traditional, and online.
  • Knowledge of building a pre-licensure nursing program, to include equipment, faculty/staff and building space necessary
  • Has intimate knowledge of NCBON rules/regulations so that approval of a pre-licensure program may be obtained
  • Experience with SACS-COC substantive change requests preferred

Qualifications:

COMMUNICATION DISORDERS

DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL FUND

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a Full-time Director of Annual Fund in the Institutional Advancement Office. This is a full-time non-exempt position which reports directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Works closely and cooperatively with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and all other Institutional Advancement Directors to coordinate comprehensive approach to the identification, cultivation and solicitation of targeted donors and/or potential donors to maximize giving and participation rates and encourage UMO Society membership.
  • Develop a coordinated calendar of annual solicitations for all constituencies.
  • Directs the faculty and staff solicitation program.
  • Directs the UMO Business Friends discount program.
  • Fosters a donor-centered office and assists with donor relations and stewardship
  • Develops annual giving strategies with Institutional Advancement Office
  • Develops and provide leadership to active phonathon program utilizing students and parent volunteers for alumni, parents and grandparents.
  • Works closely with Alumni Director to assist in the development of building relationships with nontraditional alumni, frequently visiting all UMO locations, conversing with location directors, attending special event at all UMO locations and imploring creative methods for communication and cultivation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required plus 3 to 5 years’ fund raising experience. Strong computer skills with knowledge of “The Raiser’s Edge” platform preferred. Strong organization, communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. Willingness to work evenings and weekends. VISUAL / GRAPHIC DESIGNER II

The University of Mount Olive invites applications for a Visual / Graphic Designer II.

Responsibilities Include:

•   Planning, analyzing, and facilitating the creation of visual solutions to communications problems, and visual designs for digital and print needs, including marketing and campaign materials, advertisements, magazines, event graphics, flyers, brochures, programs, posters, newsletters, invitations, envelopes, stationery, reports, and web banners.
•   Maintaining branding and graphical identity standards for the University, managing the creation and approvals of designs and templates across multiple campus departments.
•   Recruiting and directing the work of graphic interns along with outsourcing, as appropriate, to address customer demand.
•   Coordinating with the Marketing and Communications team to develop and create graphics for social media and the web.
•   Developing and managing RFPs, reviews, delivery schedules, and production of print-ready files for internal customers and external print vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in graphic arts/design, visual communications, or related field and 2+ years of professional design and supervisory experience with strong portfolio of visual design, development, and production work, OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and portfolio is required.

This position requires a creative mind and strong eye for design elements, coupled with demonstrated artistic ability, creativity, and the ability to explain design thinking. Advanced expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, strong organizational and supervisory skills, excellent communication and computer skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team, coupled with strong project management skills and ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and tasks and prioritize based on project deadlines while continuing to relate positively to others and receive constructive criticism is a must. Proficiency in videography and multimedia editing along with experience with Lucidpress design and publishing platform preferred. Must have valid NC Driver’s License. FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

DIRECTOR OF HOUSING

The University of Mount Olive has an opening for a Director of Housing. This is a full time, twelve month live-in position that will be responsible for managing the day to day housing operations for the university. In addition, they will manage all housing assignments, maintaining the housing software system and coordinating facility plans. This position will also oversee the housing selection process and RA selection process. The director will provide leadership for the overall campus living and learning experience and manage all related tasks associated with maintaining a residential community.

The person in this position will work closely with two other live-in professionals to provide a comprehensive residential programming on campus. This position will manage a residential area of 3 residence halls (approximately 200 students) and supervise 5 to 8 resident assistants. Responsibilities will include staff training, conflict mediation, crisis intervention, and the implementation of residence hall programming designed to complement the goals of the residence life program and mission of the University. This live in position will require flexible hours, a team building attitude and a sincere desire to work with students in a religiously affiliated private liberal arts university environment. This person will serve on a three person on-call rotation for campus emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in related field required. Supervisory experience and extensive experience in residential living, either as a graduate student or full time employee are required. Preference will be given to candidates with 2-3 years post graduate work experience.

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a full-time Associate Director in the Financial Aid Office at the Mount Olive campus.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Administrative

  • Responsible for operation of the financial aid office in absence of the Director.
  • Maintains working knowledge of each financial aid function and provides assistance during staff absences.
  • Plans and coordinates staff meetings/training with the Director of Financial Aid and/or other functional departments
  • Participates in College departmental/divisional meetings and training as appropriate.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid with all relevant functions of the Financial Aid Office so that all audit requirements at satisfactorily met.
  • Maintains working knowledge of federal, state and institutional policies, procedures and regulations regarding financial aid eligibility for traditional and the adult and graduate students at all MOC locations.
  • Understands and complies with institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics.
  • Processes financial aid award packages, FAFSA verification, and other financial aid forms including direct loans.
  • Downloads data files from EDE into campus wide PowerFaids; maintain, correct and submit all variations back to EDE.
  • Works with the Director of Financial Aid to ensure aid funds are processed in a timely manner.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid with the reconciliation of all aid funds.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid with updates to the Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid with the upkeep of the various software programs utilized by the financial aid office.
  • Performs other additional duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.

Personnel

  • Participates in the identification, interviewing and orientation of new staff (hire in conjunction with Financial Aid Director, and departmental representative(s) as appropriate).
  • Participates in the annual evaluation of staff.
  • Ensures financial aid personnel are aware of and adhere to University Covenant.
  • Monitors staff performance through internal audits and work with the Director of Financial Aid to correct any issue that is causing errors.
  • Assists the Director of Financial Aid in the creation of staff training and development programs and departmental policies.
  • Reviews and approves payroll for appropriate financial aid staff in the absence of the Director.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the director as required to meet the needs and growth of the position

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 5 or more years of direct financial aid experience.

ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at the University of Mount Olive seeks applications for an Assistant to the Dean.  The Assistant to the Dean works with the Dean to assist with management of school staff, multi-varied administrative and clerical duties of the office, and other necessary tasks associated with the daily operation of the School of Arts and Sciences. The Assistant to the Dean supports and is an important component of the cohesive team of students, faculty and staff serving the educational mission and covenant of the University. Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing all aspects of the Dean’s schedule to include all appointments and meetings on his electronic calendar.
  • Work closely with SAS Chairs to ensure coordination of school events to include all department and division Lectures.

  • Work closely with SAS Chairs in the assignment of all staffing needs for courses in each academic semester to include the solicitation of adjuncts.
  • Work closely with SAS Chairs in the collection of updated and accurate syllabi for each course each academic semester.
  • Assist in developing and processing faculty load letters each semester.
  • Work closely with the VPAA office to ensure courses and staffing is complete in a timely manner.
  • Maintain faculty files, including contract information, and evaluations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding SAS information and files.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of administrative support experience with evidence of increasing levels of responsibility or an associate’s degree with two years of experience in a similar capacity.

ONE STOP ADVISOR

University of Mount Olive at the RTP Education Center has an immediate opening for a One Stop Advisor. The One-Stop Advisor is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with individual students that promote student satisfaction and retention. Central to this role is the development and maintenance of a personal relationship with each student on the Advisor’s caseload such that the student knows the Advisor’s name and contacts the Advisor for assistance, especially if they are at risk for stopping or dropping out.

The Advisor meets the non-classroom support needs of students by providing direct solutions to student problems, where possible, and by acting as a relationship manager to ensure that others provide effective solutions when it is not within the Advisor’s scope. Within the scope of services either provided or facilitated by the Advisor are program planning, early matriculation goal setting and periodic revision, time management, and assisting students with inquiries regarding degree requirements, policies and procedures, billing and payment, financial assistance, transfer credit, and general university services.

The Advisor also participates in student orientation events and other student programs as they arise. The Advisor is the student’s principal if not exclusive point of contact in the institution, and as such, is responsible for addressing student issues and complaints as they arise, serving as a student liaison with other functional areas of the organization, and establishing university practices that contribute to student satisfaction and retention. Advisors work as part of a team under the direct supervision of the Director of Adult and Graduate Advising.

  • Communicating with assigned students according to relevant calendars, and as indicated by student-associated triggers.
  • Advancing students through the student lifecycle to graduation.
  • Constructing genuine relationships with assigned students.
  • Assisting students with issues related to multiple student service units within the University, including registrar, financial aid, the business office, and academic support services.
  • Providing assigned students with accurate and timely academic advising.
  • Providing primary assistance with financial issues related to attendance.

Hours of operations are Mon -Thurs 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Friday 8 AM – 5:00 PM

FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a part-time Flight Instructor. The Flight Instructor must be an energetic professional with the passion to deliver quality instruction. This Flight Instructor must also maintain a high level of performance standards, with a focus on a safe environment and exceptional customer service.

The successful candidate will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching students how to fly in a variety of settings using methods that include textbook education, simulators and live flight training.
  • Responsible for training students in subjects such as aircraft systems, operating procedures, handling emergencies, problem analysis, aircraft navigation, radio operation and aerodynamics.
  • Use ground-school classes both to teach students the basics of flying an aircraft and to help them prepare for the written test they can expect to face when applying for their pilot’s license from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
  • Provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with Part 61 and 141, FAA regulations, Airmen’s Information Manual, advisory circulars, airport operations, and University policies and procedures. Schedule students, maintain records, and ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student in each flight course.
  • Contact and meet with potential new customers. Conduct tours of facilities and familiarize customers with University policies, procedures, and flight training courses.
  • Ensure all students understand and practice all aspects of safety program.
  • Regularly schedule each assigned student to ensure satisfactory progress through the course and immediately inform supervisor of any delays in training or satisfactory progress.
  • Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training record, student logbook, and computer records.
  • Responsible for the timely course completion of all flight students assigned, including completion of required paperwork.
  • Monitor the maintenance condition of the training aircraft and inform appropriate personnel of any questionable items.
  • Recommend curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate and develop new curriculum or courseware as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Position requires FAA certification as CFI, CFII (Certified Flight Instructor, Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument); CFMEII (Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument, Multi-Engine) is preferred.
  • Preferred to have some experience in flight training as a flight instructor and evaluator.
  • Must hold a current Second Class FAA Medical Certificate.
