Each position will indicate the minimum educational requirements. University of Mount Olive promotes active learning modes, experiential learning, and student engagement. All positions start on August 1, 2018. Teaching responsibilities will include four classes in fall and spring semester under a nine-month contract (12 load hours per semester).

STAFF & ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

OFFICE COORDINATOR

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for an Office Coordinator for the Student Affairs Office. This is a fast-paced office that is responsible for most areas of campus life outside of the classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Student Affairs Office
  • Serve as primary administrative support for the Vice President of Student Affairs
  • Accountable for all student files
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality for student records, incidents, and other critical information related to student files
  • Serve as the primary administrator for all Federal Government files for the SEVIS program regulating international student visas. (Must be able to register for the Federal SEVIS System to collect and maintain records relating to international student Visas.)
  • Maintain student identification system
  • Work collaboratively with all departments and employees in the Student Affairs Office
  • Serve as the primary and initial contact for students, families, and University visitors in the office
  • Manage all minutes, reports, and communication with University Board of Trustee members
  • Manage multiple credit card accounts and monthly account transactions/reconciliations
  • Must have extensive working knowledge of computers and software systems to include MS-Outlook, MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Access with sufficient typing and word processing skills to develop written (letters and email) correspondence
  • Will assist Student Affairs Staff members during traditional and non-traditional work hours as needed during University operation hours. This will require some early morning, late day, and weekend hours.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as required to meet the needs and growth of the position

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required plus two years of progressively responsible office experience. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication and computer skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team. The person in this position will serve as the initial contact for the office and must be empathetic, courteous, caring, and have true desire to help students. Must have excellent customer service skill

ACADEMIC EVALUATION COORDINATOR

The University of Mount Olive at the Mount Olive location has an immediately opening for an Academic Evaluation Coordinator for traditional students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluates transcripts from all Traditional locations
  • Prepares and distributes curriculum evaluation sheets.
  • Update transcripts to college database.
  • Provide data to student records specialists.
  • Advises students about transfer work.
  • Certifies candidates for graduation.
  • Assists in the certification of veterans qualifying for veteran’s benefits.
  • Assists in the processing of student information including grades, transcripts, biographical information, student schedules drop/add, master class schedules, and financial information grades, advisor/advisee packets and financial information.
  • Coordinate with the Registrar and Data Management in preparation of selected reports: Registration reports, retention study, student’s right to know, Dean’s and President’s lists, Probation Exclusive report, billing reports, work load report, master class schedule, and class/grade rosters

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication and computer skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.  ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, TILLMAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant for the Tillman School of Business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides assistance and support first and foremost the Office of the Dean, and secondly to Department Chairs, in problem solving, project planning and management, and time-management.
  • Performs research and analysis on specific issues, as required, and with guidance prepares non-routine letters and/or reports, which may be confidential in nature.
  • Serves as a designated point of administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of issues.
  • Organizes and coordinates meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and other special events, as required.
  • Maintains calendar and schedule of appointments and manages the travel schedule including flight and hotel arrangements for the offices of the Dean and Department Chairs.
  • Manages databases and files for offices of the Dean and Department Chairs and provides routine reports.
  • Review vendor contracts.
  • Manages routine requisitions, purchasing of office supplies and equipment, and performing other office functions in accordance with UMO policies.
  • Prepare/distribute minutes and meeting notes.
  • Serves as a designated interface (point of contact) between the Dean and Tillman School of Business Board of Advisors.
  • Provides direct staff support to the Dean, to include greeting and assisting visitors, handling phone calls and inquiries, scheduling and maintaining calendars and travel arrangements, screening, analyzing, and preparing responses to incoming correspondence, handling day-to-day public relations and assisting in problem solving.
  • Assists in background research, planning, coordination and completion of special projects on an as required basis.
  • From time to time provides direct supervision of student helpers.
  • Identify and attend trainings, workshops and seminars to keep skills current and remain abreast of student life and student affairs issues as they relate to the job responsibilities of the position.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree required, Bachelor degree preferred or a combination of similar work experience in an office, school (preferably college), or other administrative situation is required. Three to five years of progressively responsible office experience. GRADUATE PROGRAM SUPPORT COORDINATOR

The University of Mount Olive is currently seeking a Graduate Program Support Coordinator to provide administrative, academic, and admissions support assistance to the Dean of Graduate Studies and associated Graduate Programs.  This position will be responsible for providing support for the growing School of Graduate Studies in the areas of admissions, academic program support, and administrative support.

This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a team oriented setting, and above a working knowledge of computers and systems including MS-Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS Access) and/or relational databases.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Two years of professional work experience preferably   in education, administrative support, customer support , public relations or related area​ ​

PART TIME OPEN POSITIONS

BUS DRIVER
