Associate Director of Thriving Congregations

Description

The University of Mount Olive has an immediate opening for an Associate Director of Thriving Congregations, ADTC,  within the University Ministries division. The ADTC will report to the Director for Thriving in Ministry. The ADTC is a grant-funded position and will be responsible for the oversight, programming, and reporting of The Thriving Congregations Initiative grant through University Ministries. The ADTC will also carry adjunct faculty responsibilities within the Christian Studies Department, as part of the University Ministries division. The position is classified as exempt.

Responsibilities include:

  • The overall management of The Thriving Congregations Initiative grant
  • Maintain of reports, events, and spending of grant funds for the TC Initiative
  • Implement and evaluate key deliverables of the TC Initiative
  • Identify and assemble an oversight committee from among vested stakeholders
  • Participate in University Ministries division-wide gatherings, events, and meetings
  • Represent University Ministries at church, denominational, and other gathering spaces
  • Teach one course per academic semester
  • Present at events mandated by the grant funder
  • Other duties as assigned by The Director of Thriving in Ministries

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required, with an emphasis on Christian faith, from a regionally-accredited institution
  • Minimum of five years of ministry experience, or seven years of community/non-profit experience
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Be willing to work within a team structure, and across theologically diverse spaces
  • Travel within eastern North Carolina is required, with mileage reimbursement available
  • Must be willing to offer, and accept feedback in constructive ways
