Description

The Tillman School of Business at the University of Mount Olive seeks applicants for adjunct/part-time faculty positions in Aviation.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching courses in Aviation to be delivered in an online or seated format.  Online courses will be taught through the Moodle platform. Candidates with experience in distance education delivery methods and classroom experience are preferred.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory Federal Aviation Administration Certificates/Ratings for the Manned Pilot

  1. Airline Transport Pilot Certificate or Commercial Pilot Certificate
  2. Instrument Rating
  3. Certified Flight Instructor Certificate*, with Instrument/Multi-Engine
  4. Certified Ground Instructor (Advanced)

Mandatory Federal Aviation Administration Certificates/Ratings for the Unmanned Pilot

  1. Remote Pilot Certificate OR
  2. Be fully aware of FAA regulations necessary to complete Part 107 certification if a first-time pilot OR
  3. Current Part 61 or Part 141 Certification

 *NOTEFor the Certified Flight Instructor Certificate requirement above, applicant should have a minimum of 500 to 1000 flight hours of teaching flight instruction in the aircraft. 

Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited university in Aviation e.g., BS in Professional Aeronautics with a minor in Management.

Master degree or higher preferred
