Director of Academic Resource Center
The University of Mount Olive has an opening for the position of Director of the Academic Resource Center. The Academic Resource Center is charged with providing 21st-century leadership for Academic and Retention Services at UMO. This includes ensuring the mission and values of the University are demonstrated throughout the department.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and evaluate academic support programs including, but not limited to, Supplemental Instruction, Learning Accountability Programs, Peer Tutoring, and Clinics.
- Oversee hiring, training, professional development, and evaluation of ARC staff and student workers.
- Collaborate with University leadership and other support departments to promote the academic success of UMO students
- Develop individual success plans in collaboration with appropriate leadership in concordance with University policy
- Develop and manage the assigned ARC budget
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive environment with students, faculty, and other support departments
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the ARC
- Provide administrative leadership and strategic direction in line with the University’s strategic goals
- Ensure compliance with University policies and procedures while making recommendations if appropriate
- Participate in professional organizations while presenting/publishing best practices and research
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Must be a team leader with an attitude that shows commitment to the overall institutional goals
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately using all modes of communication (virtual, phone, email, etc.)
- Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community, and the public
- Ability to effectively self-mange and lead activities while working within a team-oriented environment toward collective goals.
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn and properly use complex relational databases in routine performance of daily job functions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced Degree or significant experience preferred
