The University of Mount Olive is searching for a motivated professional to lead our student activities program for the campus. The University has grown the student population over the last seven years and plans to continue this growth plan. We continue to search for additional opportunities to promote campus engagement, invigorate the campus experience, and introduce our students to co-curricular learning opportunities. The person in this position will need a passion for student activities and the planning of events on campus. This hybrid position will offer a new professional the opportunity to get extensive experience in campus programming, residence life, and many other areas at a growing private university.
The Director of Student Activities is a full-time, twelve-month live-in position that will serve as the director for campus programming. The professional in this position will continue a tradition of planning a robust student activity schedule, manage the student activity fund and supervise the campus activity board (CAB) that has more than 20 student members. The university has worked hard to invest resources in this area on campus and we have experienced great program planning initiatives with high levels of student participation. The University of Mount Olive is committed to continuing this high level of commitment to student activity programming on campus. This position will also manage and participate in the student activities travel program that coordinates an annual domestic/international trip for our students.
In addition to the student activities director responsibilities, this professional will oversee a residential area of 3 residence halls (approximately 200 students) and supervise 5 to 8 resident assistants. Responsibilities will include staff training, conflict mediation, crisis intervention, and the implementation of residence hall programming designed to complement the goals of the residence life program and mission of the University. This live-in position will require flexible hours, a team-building attitude, and a sincere desire to work with students in a private liberal arts college environment.
