
Music Scholarships
All University of Mount Olive students are eligible for music scholarships including non-music majors.
University of Mount Olive Music Talent Awards
- Amount of award determined by music faculty based on audition
- Student must audition for one or more UMO music ensembles
- Award dependent on the need of the ensemble
- Student must demonstrate basic musicianship skills
- Student required to commit to all ensemble activities
Charles and Margenette A. Hinnant Music Scholarship
- Up to $3,000 renewable annually up to four years
- Demonstrate outstanding talent, academic ability, and good character
- Audition
- Letter of recommendation
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA in music courses overall
Ensemble Scholarships
Chamber Choir – up to $2,750 renewable annually up to four years
Concert Choir – up to $1,000 renewable annually up to four years
Chamber Ensemble – up to $1,000 renewable annually up to four years
- Must be a full-time student
- Audition
- Register for appropriate ensemble course
- Take an applied course each semester
Warren Vocal Scholarship
- $500 per year
- Must be a full-time student
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA in music courses overall
McRae Trumpet Scholarship
- $500 per year
- Must be a full-time student
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA in music courses overall
Warren Instrumental Scholarship
- $200 per year
- Must be a full-time student
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA in music courses overall
