Timeline
Mount Olive College was established by the North Carolina Convention of Free Will Baptists in September 1951 to provide a program of Christian higher education. The College attained university status on January 1, 2014, and is now known as the University of Mount Olive. While the name may have changed, the institution’s commitment to providing students with a liberal arts education with defining Christian values remain steadfast.
