UMO Recovery Update

UMO will resume classes on Thursday morning, September 20th for both traditional and adult seated or online students. For this week, adult seated students will have virtual class sessions.

Residential students can return to campus after 12:00 noon this Wednesday, September 19th.

Faculty and staff will return to their respective work locations on Wednesday, September 19th.

Fall Commencement will be held on December 15th as originally scheduled.

There will be adjustments in the schedule for the remainder of the semester to make up class sessions missed. UMO faculty are committed to help you throughout the fall semester so you can complete the required course work. If you have trouble returning to campus, or have already made travel plans at the end of the semester that may conflict with an adjusted schedule, faculty will work with you to get all your course work completed.

UMO Stats

“The University of Mount Olive has given me a home away from home. I am an international student and I have loved my experience in America as a result of this university. I have had many opportunities to release my full potential as both a student and a person. I am grateful for my professors who have helped me along the way.”

Hannah Kirk

“UMO has been great for me because I get the attention I need from my professor to help me succeed in the classroom and on the baseball field. I also love the culture at this school because I get to meet all different types of people and it allows me to be myself.”

Justin Lee

“I have 20 years on the job.  “Having my degree puts me in a better position for further advancement.  Continuing my education has also given me opportunities I may not have had otherwise. Setting an example for my kids has been the biggest motivator.”

Jason Bishop

“UMO makes it possible to work toward my degree without having to worry about missing work. From my first contact with UMO, I felt right at home.”

Natasha Miller

“I chose UMO because it gave me the ability to take online classes that are convenient for my schedule, but also the opportunity to see my advisor and professors face-to-face.  As active duty military, husband, father, and cattle farm owner/operator, I need the flexibility that UMO affords adult students.  Even when I had to take a year off for military retraining, my advisor helped me pick right back up where I left off!”
