Alumni Award Descriptions
The following awards may be considered each year to present to deserving individuals. It is at the discretion of the UMO Alumni Association Awards Committee to decide which awards are given based on nominations received. All awards are not required to be given annually.
Presented to an alumnus for ongoing participation and leadership in activities that promote the advancement of the University of Mount Olive, rendering outstanding service by going beyond the call of duty for the University and/or the Alumni Association, and has distinguished himself/herself through personal or professional accomplishments.
Eligibility
Open to former students
Recognizes a young graduate for exceptional achievement that reflects honor to the University, distinguished themselves as leaders in the areas of civic, religious, and professional life, and serves as inspiration for others to the same high standard.

Open to former students who attended within the past 10 years
Awarded to an individual who has been instrumental in the advancement of the University of Mount Olive or the community, rendering outstanding service by going beyond the call of duty and is distinguished through personal or professional accomplishments.

Did not attend the University of Mount Olive
Awarded to an alumnus of the University of Mount Olive who has made a lifelong contribution to the University.

Presented to an exceptional educator in either the public or private sector.

Must be a graduate of the University of Mount Olive
Awarded in recognition of distinguished qualities of outstanding character, leadership, personal initiative, integrity, dedication to duty, respect for others, and strong communication.

Awarded in recognition of extraordinary service and support. Business Associates of the University of Mount Olive are businesses that contribute $1,000 or more annually to the University — joining a distinguished list of community leaders whose vision and generosity enable UMO to serve an ever-widening student population.

Open to former students who are members of the UMO Business Associates Program
Awarded in recognition of productive citizenship and outstanding service to community, state, nation, or humankind. The recipient has distinguished himself/herself through professional accomplishment in their field and brought distinction to UMO directly or indirectly through their achievements.
