University of Mount Olive Adds Anatomage Table to Enhance Student Learning
MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive has added an Anatomage Table to its academic resources, giving students an interactive way to study human anatomy. The addition of this hands-on resource strengthens nursing education and expands technology-supported learning in the health sciences.
The Anatomage Table is a life-size 3D anatomy visualization and virtual dissection system. Students can explore detailed anatomical structures, examine the human body layer by layer, and work with real clinical imaging cases.
The table will primarily support nursing education, particularly courses involving anatomy and physiology, health assessment, pathophysiology, and other areas where understanding the relationship between anatomy and clinical conditions is essential. It can also serve as a valuable interdisciplinary resource for applicable science and health-related courses.
“The Anatomage Table gives our pre-nursing and nursing students a powerful new way to explore the human body and connect what they learn in the classroom to patient care,” said Dr. Donna Larrimore, Director of Nursing. “By allowing students to visualize anatomy, physiology, and disease processes in an interactive environment, this technology will help strengthen their clinical understanding and prepare them to apply that knowledge in real-world nursing practice.”
The University of Mount Olive is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values. The University was founded by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. For more information, visit www.umo.edu.
