Let’s Find Your Path

We didn’t find a direct merit match for those exact answers — but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options. Nearly every UMO student receives financial aid, and need-based grants, departmental awards, and external scholarships may still be available to you. The best next step is to apply (it’s free) and complete your FAFSA so our Financial Aid team can build your full package.

Don’t Forget Federal & State Aid

Most students combine scholarships with need-based grants and loans. After you complete the FAFSA, you may also be eligible for:

  • Federal Pell Grant — $661 to $6,495 per year
  • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant — up to $1,000 per year
  • Federal Work-Study — up to $1,000 per year
  • Federal Direct Student & Parent PLUS Loans
  • North Carolina Need-Based Scholarship — $672 to $8,640 per year

Get started by completing your FAFSA and including UMO’s school code 002949. Complete your FAFSA →

Important — please read: This tool provides a general estimate only and is not an offer, award, promise, or guarantee of any scholarship, grant, or amount. Results are generated from the information you entered and the published criteria for each program; they have not been reviewed or verified. Scholarship availability, eligibility requirements, award amounts, deadlines, and funding are subject to change at any time without notice, and many awards carry additional conditions — including GPA, residency, full-time enrollment, FAFSA completion, separate applications, auditions, portfolio reviews, interviews, and annual renewal standards. Some awards cannot be combined, and this estimate does not reflect every form of aid you may receive. Nothing shown here creates any obligation on the part of the University of Mount Olive. All financial aid is awarded solely at the discretion of the UMO Office of Financial Aid following a complete application and FAFSA. Additional Agriculture & External Scholarships

Agriculture students at UMO are also encouraged to pursue these external and national scholarships. These are administered by outside organizations — eligibility and applications are handled directly through each sponsor, not through UMO.
