Bub Earns Top Honor at University of Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE—During its spring commencement on Saturday, May 2, the University of Mount Olive presented the 2015 Martin Award to Edgar Bub of Kehl, Germany.

Bub graduated Saturday with a double major in business management and human resource management.  His overall GPA is 3.9+.  In addition to being an outstanding student, he has also been an outstanding athlete on the men’s tennis team.  This year, the men’s tennis team won both the conference and the conference tournament.

The Martin award is given each year in honor of the late Lorelle F. Martin, professor emerita, who taught science at Mount Olive College from 1957 to 1987.  The award is presented to the baccalaureate graduate who has the highest academic average.  Other requirements indicate that the student must complete his or her entire study at the University of Mount Olive during four years of full-time continuous enrollment.

The University of Mount Olive is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values. The University, sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists, has locations in Mount Olive, New Bern, Wilmington, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Research Triangle Park, Washington, Jacksonville, and in Smithfield at Johnston Community College.  For more information, visit old.umo.edu.
