Campus Tours Show Students More Than Just A Campus

MOUNT OLIVE – Deciding on what college to attend can be a daunting task.  There is much to consider:  different curriculums, class room sizes, teacher to student ratios, etc.  University of Mount Olive invites prospective students and their parents to schedule campus tours to help ease the anxiety that may accompany choosing the perfect college.
Colleges and universities have become competitive for incoming students much like car lots compete for a sale.  University of Mount Olive relies on student tour guides who share their personal experiences with prospective students giving them a keen insight into what University of Mount Olive truly has to offer.  There is no better advertising than word of mouth.
Prospective students are able to schedule a tour by contacting the admissions office either by phone or online. Once a request has been received, a student tour guide will be paired with the prospective student. “We try to match the student tour guide’s interests with that of the prospective student,” says Brian Parnell, admissions representative.  “All tour guides have a passion for MOC and are excited to share that with others. Each tour guide goes through a training process and numerous practice tours before they show our visitors around.”
Though most colleges and universities strive to make their campus memorable by using marketing tactics, University of Mount Olive’s student tour guides are essential in making visits to the campus memorable. “Prospective students and their families can expect personal stories, jokes, intriguing conversation, and an honest perspective from our tour guides,” says Parnell.  “In Admissions, we realize that University of Mount Olive may not be right for everyone.  We aim to do our best to make them feel at home and guide them in their higher education search.  This leaves visitors with a true sense of how MOC transforms lives.
The average tour lasts 45 minutes to an hour.  For more information, contact Admissions at (919) 658-2502 or
