CFFA Honored for Outstanding Service at University of Mount Olive
MOUNT OLIVE- The Collegiate FFA (CFFA) Club was honored for its Outstanding Contribution to the Community during the last year at University of Mount Olive’s Annual Award Ceremony. Ed Olive, president of CFFA, received the award on the club’s behalf.
The Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award is given to the club that has continuously gone above and beyond in their contribution to University of Mount Olive and the community.
University of Mount Olive CFFA has contributed in many ways to the community which include: raising money and distributing over 200 coasts, hats and gloves to underprivileged sixth graders at Carver Elementary School; mentored first through fifth graders for over 280 hours of combined work at Carver Elementary School; organized a haunted hayride at the Cliff of the Neuse; and donated to Operation Shoebox to support US troops.
CFFA has also served University of Mount Olive by speaking at numerous events across the state to recruit prospective students and by conducting leadership workshops for all students entitled “Get Hooked.”
The purpose of CFFA is to strive to build strong leaders and relationships to better serve University of Mount Olive and the community. Most importantly, CFFA works to support and encourage the interests of agriculture in the lives of its members.
