Dr. David Dommer Honored as Advisor of the Year

MOUNT OLIVE – Dr. David Dommer, assistant professor of biology, is the recipient of the 2011-2012 Advisor of the Year award. The person who nominated Dr. Dommer said the following:  “I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dommer and the impact he has made on this campus over the last year.  We need more advisors like him and I can think of no better way to honor his contribution or encourage other faculty to step up than by awarding him the Advisor of the Year award.”
Dr. Dommer has consistently shown his ability to serve as an ethical, positive role model and mentor for his students. While utilizing one of the most colorful approaches, he understands the personal motivation needed to drive the success of his students. Dr. Dommer spends his time sending emails about bake sales, volunteering with students, and much more significantly, ensuring all is well with their mental and physical well-being.
The Student Government Association awards The Advisor of the Year award to the student organization advisor who shows the greatest willingness to work closely with students, who helps to get students involved and who “goes above and beyond the call of duty” in working with the group.
