H.O.P.E. Conference 2011 to be held at Mount Olive College
MOUNT OLIVE-H.O.P.E. (Helping Others by Providing Empowerment ) Conference 2011 is a one day women’s conference scheduled for Saturday, March 19 at University of Mount Olive. The event, scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM with registration in Kornegay Arena, is presented by Whitley Church, University of Mount Olive, and WHFL.
The conference will include presentations by keynote speakers Alaine Strozier and Diane Hardee, and performances by Dance for Christ and the Mime Ministry of Whitley Church.
Local organizations such as Wayne Pregnancy Center, Red Cross, DoubleTree Temp Agency, Whitley Ministries, Goshen Medical, and Academic Abundance will have booths at the event. Breakout sessions for the day will be presented on topics including parenting, relationships, and medical questions. A prayer room will also be available.
“This is a great event for our community, as well as the students, faculty, and staff of the College,” said Machelle Bass, Director of Counseling Services at University of Mount Olive and one of the event coordinators. “There will be something for women of all ages.”
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The price includes a continental breakfast and lunch provided by Pioneer College Caterers. Space is limited, so those planning to attend are encouraged to purchase advanced tickets available at University of Mount Olive and Whitley Church. University of Mount Olive students can attend for free with a valid student ID.
