Harrison Memorial Lecture Planned at UMO

 

MOUNT OLIVE- The University of Mount Olive is hosting the 25thAnnual Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture. The event will take place at Rodgers Chapel.  The first lecture will be held on September 29th at 7 PM. The next lecture will be held on September 30th at 9 AM, which will be followed by an 11 AM worship service.

Dr. Willie Jennings will be the guest speaker. Dr. Jennings is the author of The Christian Imagination: Theology and the Origins of Race and numerous articles. Apart from writing, Dr. Jennings teaches in the areas of systematic theology and black church and cultural studies, and his research interests include these areas as well as liberation theologies, cultural identities, and anthropology. Consequently, Dr. Jennings will lecture on the topic of Theology and Race for the 25th Annual Vivian B. Harrison Memorial Lecture.
