MOC Goes Shoeless for the Day
University of Mount Olive declared April 16, 2013 as a “One Day Without Shoes” day on its campus. “Shoes play an important role in health by protecting us from cuts, diseases and soil-based infections like hookworm, which affects 740 million people worldwide,” said Campus Chaplain Carla Williamson. “By setting aside one day on our campus for people to go without their shoes, we are helping bring awareness to children’s health and education.”
