Mount Olive College Hosts Annual Career Fair
MOUNT OLIVE- The University of Mount Olive Student Success Center will host a Career Fair on March 22, from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM in Kornegay Arena. Over 30 employers and representatives from 8 graduate schools will participate this year. University of Mount Olive students from all campuses, alumni, and community members are invited to use this opportunity to discuss job and career opportunities, practice interviewing skills, and network with recruiters from a variety of employers and graduate schools.
“With the national statistics stating that 80% of all job openings are not advertised to the public, career fairs and other networking opportunities are important strategies to have for a successful job search,” says Dr. Rebecca Francis, assistant director of the Student Success Center. “Underclass students should take advantage of the opportunities that career fairs hold for internships. Internships will allow them to test drive their career interests and give them a chance to discuss summer and part-time positions.”
In the afternoon, recruiters will have the opportunity to hold interviews on campus. In order to participate, students and alumni must be registered and prepared before the fair. “I am looking forward to introducing our MOC Star Candidates to this year’s recruiters,” says Dr. Francis. “This is a group of students and alumni who are registered with the Student Success Center and have worked to be well-prepared for meeting recruiters. We had a good number of interviews scheduled from attending the recent ENCCA Career Fair in Raleigh and look forward to having a larger group participate for our Career Fair.”
