Pope Continues Service on University of Mount Olive Board

MOUNT OLIVE – Emmett Judson Pope III of Mount Olive is serving his sixth year with the University of Mount Olive Board of Trustees on the Business Affairs Committee. The 30 member Board is charged with the oversight and governance of the College.  University of Mount Olive Trustees have the responsibility of establishing the identity of University of Mount Olive through leading, planning and interpreting.
Pope is president of E.J. Pope & Son Inc., and previously served as vice president of the company from 1984 to 1994. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984. Pope currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Mount Olive Pickle Company.  He was the past chairman of the Board of Wayne County Day School, a past board member of the Walnut Creek Country Club and served on the Planning Council at Walnut Creek.
Pope is married to Kim Pope.  They have two daughters Margaux and Abbey.  The family attends St. Paul United Methodist Church.
