PTA  and FEA Collects and Donates School Supplies to Brodgen Primary School

The University of Mount Olive Prospective Teachers Association (PTA) and Future Educators Association (PTA) members recently gathered at Brodgen Primary School to deliver schools supplies. Many items were donated to include notebooks, loose leaf paper, glue sticks, crayons, sticky notes, pens, pencils hand sanitizer, paper towels, tissues, and many other items to be used by the students and teachers at the school. Principal Youlonda Wynn and Assistant Principal Karla Smith expressed their appreciation for the supplies, “The supplies will serve as a reserve during our tough economic times.”

UMO Department Chair for Education Dr. Ruby Bell said, “PTA and FEA members are required to volunteer at a local school as a part of the education program.  Students who volunteer gain new experiences and insights into the educational process.  Volunteering also encourages students to give back and to  help others.  It allows students to network and connect with other people while building career options.  The supply drive is just one of the  service projects conducted by the PTA and FEA members.”
