Senior Art Show Reception to be Held November 19

MOUNT OLIVE- Senior visual arts students will be honored at the Fall Senior Art Show reception on Thursday, November 19. Hosted by the University of Mount Olive Department of Fine Art/Visual Communication, the event will be held at 4 PM in the Teresa Pelt Grubbs Fine Art Gallery in Laughinghouse Hall. The reception will feature the work of five visual arts seniors, who are graduating in December.

The work displayed in the Fall Student Art Show will show the diversity of work by Alan Brinson, Morgan Morrissette, Aaron Norris, Taylor Pate, and Sydney Raper. Their work is a mix of the visual arts, photography, traditional fine art, and graphic design.

Brinson is the first visual arts double major at UMO. He is graduating with a degree in art and graphic design. Brinson is originally from Walterboro, SC. His parents are Donald Alan Brinson Jr. and Kitty Rae Lyons Brinson. He is married to Trudie Lynn Rickman Brinson, who is originally from Virginia.

Morrissette is graduating with a degree in visual communication. Her visual arts focus is in graphic design and photography, with a special interest in photography. Morrissette is from Cary, NC. She plans to travel and gain experience working so she can someday be a freelance designer.

Norris is graduating with a degree in visual communication. His focus is in illustration and graphic design, but he experiments with other forms of visual expression. Norris is from Carthage, NC. His parents are Lisa Collins and Steven Norris. He would like to work for a design studio or small advertising agency.

Pate is graduating with a degree in visual communication. She is focused on graphic design and photography, but she has developed a love for photography. Pate is from Mount Olive, NC. Her father is Kevin Pate. She would like to stay as close to home as possible and eventually work in photography or graphic design.

Raper is graduating with a degree in visual communication. Her focus and interest has been in photography. She is from Princeton, NC. Her parents are Budd and Terry Levick. Raper was recently married to Craig Raper, Jr. Raper would like to start her own photography business.
