Spring 2011 Phone-a-thon a Success

Seven University of Mount Olive students, dubbed the “Phone-a-thon Team”, recently concluded their first 10-week campaign. During this endeavor they reconnected with over 1,000 alumni and raised $7,325 in new pledges for the Annual Fund.  This money will change the lives of students.

During the phone-a-thon team members shared their life changing experiences at University of Mount Olive and took prayer requests from individuals called. This experience provided the students with valuable new skills and an appreciation for the kindness and generosity of our donors.

“I know there are many people who give to University of Mount Olive out of the kindness of their hearts,” said Amberley Martin, a freshman from Mount Olive. “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to receive a quality education here.”

The success of this initial effort has laid the foundation for another campaign scheduled for the fall 2011 semester.

“I am proud to have worked with our student callers,” said Director of the Annual Fund Yeeka Yau. “They represented the College with sincere gratitude and professionalism. They enjoyed talking to our friends and alumni, and most will be back for fall 2011!”
