A Taste of Home From University of Mount Olive President and First Lady

University of Mount Olive President Philip P. Kerstetter and his wife, Mary,  are making the final preparations for the incoming class of students which will arrive on Saturday.  The couple have baked more than  700 homemade chocolate chip cookies and individually bagged them with a message that reads, “Welcome to the University of Mount Olive!  A taste of home from Dr. and Mrs. K.”  The cookies will be placed in baskets with many other goodies from individuals and departments from around the campus.  The baskets will be placed in the residence halls as a way to welcome students to campus during Move-In day on Saturday.

“This is just our way of showing the students we care about them and are excited that they have chosen to spend the next four years with us,” said Mrs. Kerstetter.

The University is expecting more than 960 traditional students this fall, which is an increase of about 30 students from last year.  The total enrollment for the University will be nearly 3,400 students including those enrolled at the University’s eight locations in Mount Olive, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Jacksonville, New Bern, Wilmington, Washington, the Research Triangle Park, and in Smithfield at Johnston Community College.
