MOUNT OLIVE — The University of Mount Olive hosted its annual Career and Internship Fair, providing students with valuable opportunities to engage with employers and explore career pathways connected to their academic programs.
Representatives from a wide range of industries including education, healthcare, business, agriculture, government, and nonprofit sectors were on hand to offer job insights and internship information. The event served as a direct bridge between classroom learning and real-world application, allowing students to discuss their academic experiences with employers and gain insight into professional expectations.
According to Dr. Angela Kearney, Executive Director of the Learning Commons, feedback from employers was overwhelmingly positive. “One representative shared that they left the event with a bag full of resumes,” Kearney said.
“Events like the Career and Internship Fair are critical in helping students connect their academic experiences to real-world opportunities,” Kearney said. “We are proud to provide a space where students can engage directly with employers, build confidence, and begin shaping their professional paths.”
Students who were unable to attend are encouraged to connect with employers and explore opportunities through Handshake, the University’s career development platform and with the Career Development Office’s newly hired Career Development Coach Melinda Upchurch.
The University of Mount Olive is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values. The University was founded by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. For more information, visit www.umo.edu.
