UMO Students “Meet the Firms”

MOUNT OLIVE – The Tillman School of Business at the University of Mount Olive recently hosted “Meet the Firms,” an event aimed at introducing students to reputable accounting firms in the region.  Three different accounting firms from across the state came to the University to share insights about their companies.   The businesses in attendance included Carr, Riggs and Ingram CPAs and Advisor out of Goldsboro, Williams Overman Pierce from Raleigh, and Earney & Company, LLP out of Wilmington. 

 UMO’s top accounting and business students networked with the company representatives, passed out resumes for internship and full-time offerings, and asked meaningful questions relative to employment opportunities within the field of accounting.  The event provided  students with insight into real-world applications of their studies and opened doors to future career opportunities.   

Junior accounting major Macy Parkhurst said, “The UMO ‘Meet the Firms’ event was a career-defining moment for me. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to meet with accounting professionals and to have gained the knowledge of internship and full-time public accounting careers.”
