UMO to Hold Day of Giving April 2
March 06, 2024
MOUNT OLIVE – On Tuesday, April 2, the University of Mount Olive community will come together for its annual Day of Giving. The theme for this year’s event is “Soar in ’24.”
Lauren Arp, Director of Advancement Services & Annual Fund and Chair of the Giving Day Committee, said, “Our theme is directly related to Isaiah 40:31 ‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’”
“Giving Day is a 24-hour giving challenge to encourage engagement and philanthropy of all members of the UMO community,” said Major Gifts Officer Dwayne McKay.
Through social challenges and good old-fashioned rivalry, participants will have the chance to support various areas around campus that need support.
“Whether your passion is athletics or academics, your gift will pave the way for current and future students and will ensure that they have the tools and resources necessary to achieve their goals,” said Arp.
To support this initiative, participants can give at umo.edu/givingday. Follow the giving day action on Facebook, Instagram, and X by following #GiveUMO or by visiting the giving day website. Individuals wanting to contribute offline may visit the Giving Day Headquarters located in the Hennessee Room of the Holmes and Lois K. Murphy Center, on April 2 between 8 AM and 5 PM, or mail a check with Giving Day in the memo line to UMO Advancement, PO Box 90, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
“We are encouraging all UMO supporters to come together and show their Trojan pride to create outstanding opportunities for current and future Trojans,” McKay said. “We invite everyone to join in for the fun, give for the future, and get inspired by the transforming difference one day can make.”
