University of Mount Olive Surpasses Giving Day Goal

MOUNT OLIVE – A total of 204 donors collectively gave $53,000 to the University of Mount Olive for its recent Annual Giving Day.  The amount more than doubled the University’s initial goal of $25,000, and is the largest since the event began in 2017.

“I would like to thank all of the donors who made our UMO Annual Giving Day a tremendous success,” said UMO President Dr. H. Edward Croom.  “The fact that over 200 alumni and friends took the time to give is evidence of the value our University has in the lives of our students.  I am very proud of the work of our University Advancement team and look forward to continue success in the future.”

UMO’s Giving Day efforts were boosted by several challenge gifts made possible by President Croom, Board of Trustee member Howard Scott, and an anonymous donor.

“Our alumni and friends continue to show pride in the University in so many ways,” said Jason Gipe, Vice President for the Office of University Advancement. “Giving Day captured these emotions and provided everyone a way to show they care about The University of Mount Olive.”

Assistant Director of Annual Giving Peyton Moore agreed, “UMO’s Giving Day is about coming together to make a difference.  The collective generosity of so many people will truly have an impact on the work we do.  We are very grateful for everyone who invests in our students, our programs, and the transformative power of UMO.”
