William Ford Featured in Music Recital September 11

MOUNT OLIVE – University of Mount Olive will host a Music Faculty Recital at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, in the newly restored, historic Assembly Hall located at 207 Wooten Street in Mount Olive.  The recital will feature saxophonist and flutist Dr. William Ford.
Dr. Ford will perform Cocertante for Flute and Clarinet, by Franz Danzi, accompanied by pianist Alisa Gilliam and clarinetist Dr. Thomas Coleman.  This piece will be followed by Sarabande and Gigue by Fisher Tull, for saxophone and piano and Second Prelude by George Gershwin, transcribed for saxophone and piano by Sigurd Rascher. The final piece in this recital, Quintet for Saxophone and String Quartet, by Leon Stein,  will include quartet members, violinists, Chris Ellis and Dee Braxton-Pellegrino,  violist, Jonathan Simonson, and cellist, Dr. Alan Armstrong.
