15th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament Swings into Action at University of Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE- The 15th Annual University of Mount Olive Alumni Golf Tournament will swing into action on Friday, November 18th at Southern Wayne Country Club.

According to tournament coordinator Tim Woodard, “The event is a great way to enjoy a good game of golf, catch up with fellow alumni and friends, and raise funds to benefit MOC students.”

Since 2002 all tournament proceeds have been placed into the Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund which now totals over $65,500 and has helped to fund a scholarship each year for the past three years for the child of an alumnus.

Check in time for the 4-Man Captain’s Choice tournament will begin at 11:30 AM.  There will be a 12:00 Noon shotgun start. The cost of the tournament is $60 and $40 if a Class A Professional has an active PGA card.  The cost includes a mulligan, tee buster, goodie bag, and refreshments.  Immediately following the tournament there will be pizza, drawings for door prizes, and the announcement of the tournament winners.

For more information on the event, to make reservations, or for sponsorship information, contact Tim Woodard at 919-635-7793 or the Office of Alumni Relations at 919-658-7761.  Alumni are invited to organize their own teams with former classmates and friends or they can simply call to be placed on a team.

“This event is about building community, connecting with our alumni, and supporting students,” says Kevin J. Jean, vice president for Institutional Advancement. “We are so pleased this tournament has grown into an annual tradition, supported by alumni who are committed to helping outstanding students.”
