Bose to Speak at UMO’s 22nd Annual Lorelle F. Martin Lecture

MOUNT OLIVE- Dr. Santanu Bose will be the guest speaker for the 22nd annual Lorelle F. Martin Lecture on February 26, at 6:30 PM in the Southern Bank Auditorium on the University of Mount Olive (UMO) campus.

Bose is an associate professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University and a graduate of the University of Mount Olive. Following his BS degree from UMO, he earned his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is the co-inventor of an oncolytic therapy using respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) to selectively target cancer cells.

The Lorelle F. Martin Lecture was established in 1993 by Dr. E. Lee Glover as an annual tribute to his former professor Mrs. Lorelle F. Martin. Martin served for 30 years as chair of the Department of Science and Mathematics at the University of Mount Olive before retiring in 1987.
