Brusaw Earns Degree and Prepares for the Future

JACKSONVILLE – Maegan Brusaw of Jacksonville wanted to earn her bachelor’s degree 12 years ago. However, with four small children, a full time job and a home to look after, going back to college didn’t seem like an option. On December 8th she achieved her goal when she graduated from University of Mount Olive. “University of Mount Olive made earning my degree possible due to the flexibility offered in the one-night-a-week classes. Otherwise, I don’t think it would have been possible.”
Brusaw enrolled as a healthcare management major.  “My passion is in healthcare. I love working with people. I have worked in the field for ten years in different roles.” She was impressed with her knowledgeable professors when she started attending classes at MOC in Jacksonville. “All of my instructors were fabulous and had a passion for what they taught. The classes and curriculum are well suited for working adults.”
Brusaw’s husband, Chris, and their parents helped her significantly while attending classes. “Working full time and having four small children, including twins, made classes all the more challenging. There were times I thought I would not be able to do it, but my husband and family always had faith in me and told me never to give up. My goal is now a reality.”
Brusaw now plans to advance her career. “I hope to return to the healthcare field as an administrator in the near future when my children are older. I am also strongly considering graduate school.” The accelerated program at University of Mount Olive at Jacksonville helped Brusaw accomplish a goal she wanted to achieve 12 years ago. “I wouldn’t have changed a thing. University of Mount Olive has truly been a blessing for me.”
