Dance Your Shoes Off At Mount Olive College
MOUNT OLIVE – The Office of Campus Ministries is inviting the community to participate in Dance Your Shoes Off at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 3, on the Kemp Commons in front of Rodgers Chapel. According to Campus Chaplain Carla Williamson, the purpose of the event is to glorify God, to remind people of Christ’s work on the cross, and to collect shoes for those in need. Attendees are asked to wear brightly colored clothes and a pair of new or gently worn shoes to donate to Helping Hands Ministry in Mount Olive. The goal is to collect 50 pairs of shoes.
“We are very excited about bringing this event to the Mount Olive community. It brings our community together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” said Williamson. “The more we work and worship together as a community we develop relationships which can culminate in joint efforts of service for our community which honors God.”
During the event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a group dance choreographed specifically for the occasion. There will be a practice on March 29, at 7:30 PM on University of Mount Olive Kemp Commons or University of Mount Olive Pope Wellness Center in case of rain.
