Evening with UMO Brings in Funds for Scholarships
MOUNT OLIVE –The University of Mount Olive Alumni Association recently held its annual scholarship fundraising event called “An Evening with UMO.”
Alumni Relations Director Hope McPherson Fields, said, “We were so pleased with our attendance at this year’s event, and the show of support that came from our alumni. We are truly a community trying to make a difference in the lives of our students, and I am so thankful that our alumni and friends showed their support through this event.”
Over 200 people attended the event, held at Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro. Guests were entertained by the ever-popular band, Spare Change. Large and small items were raffled off throughout the evening, including a trip to Costa Rica, a guided quail hunt, and excursions to Myrtle Beach and Charlotte. All proceeds from the event will be used for scholarship support.
“This event would not be possible without the efforts of our Alumni Board, sponsors, and those in attendance,” said Fields. “Their contributions and support continue to grow our scholarship funds, thus enabling our ability to transform students’ lives.”
