Freshmen Light the Candle of Learning at the University of Mount Olive

The University of Mount Olive held its opening Convocation Ceremony to welcome the Class of 2018 on Saturday evening August 16.  The Convocation was followed by a candle lighting ceremony at the Alumni Crosswalk. The lighting of the candles represents the light of learning, the sharing of Christian values, and the need for students, faculty and staff to be living by the University Covenant.  It also represents a connection with fellow students, both past and present, and the University’s connection to students.

As of Saturday, the University of Mount Olive had reached the 1,000 mark for the number of traditional students enrolled for the fall semester.
