Hooks Featured Exhibitor at Arts Council of Wayne County

University of Mount Olive Professor of Fine Arts Cheryl Hinton Hooks was recently featured in an art exhibition at the Arts Council of Wayne County. The theme of the exhibition was “The Wounded and the Healers.”  Hooks noted that the diverse media art exhibition contained images and writings of a dream landscape, of those in need, and those who help bring healing to the world.  The goal of the exhibition was to show how art and nature can be a part of the healing process.  UMO faculty members Dr. John Blackwell, Dr. Jill Mills, and Dr. Tyanna Yonkers, as well as UMO Art Alumni Traycee Williams and UMO Art Major Cindy Rhodes were featured in the exhibition. The project was a part of Hooks contribution to the Gifts and Talents Community Service Initiative at the University of Mount Olive.
