Jones Continues Service with University of Mount Olive Board

MOUNT OLIVE – Lloyd W. Jones Jr. of Roper is serving his 26th year as a member of the University of Mount Olive Board of Trustees on the Student Development Committee. The 30 member Board is charged with the oversight and governance of the College.  MOC Trustees have the responsibility of establishing the identity of University of Mount Olive through leading, planning and interpreting.
Jones is a lifetime farmer with over 42 years at Weyerhaeuser, where he received two significant contribution awards. He was a manager for Berkley Feed Corporation and a sales clerk for Roanoke Farmers Exchange. Jones is also involved in Al-Pam, a Republican club for Eastern North Carolina, and is a member of the Blackland Farm Manager’s Association.
Jones attends Mt. Zion Church. He is married to Mary Chappell Jones. They have five children together—four attended University of Mount Olive.
