Pittman Continues Service on University of Mount Olive Board
MOUNT OLIVE – Charles W. Pittman III is serving his 33rd year as a member of the University of Mount Olive Board of Trustees. Pittman is vice chair of the Board and has formerly served on the Academic Affairs Committee and Business Affairs Committee. “The College is very important to the growth of Eastern North Carolina and the Free Will Baptist denomination,” he commented. The 30 member Board is charged with the oversight and governance of the College. MOC Trustees have the responsibility of establishing the identity of University of Mount Olive through leading, planning and interpreting.
Pittman, a Wilson native, formerly worked as an auditor for the state of North Carolina and as Deputy City Manager for the city of Wilson. He earned his bachelor’s degree in math with a minor in accounting from Barton College. Pittman was honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine award, one of the most prestigious awards given by the Governor of North Carolina.
Pittman is married to Carol S. Pittman and attends Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
