Justin Roe Wins Prestigious NACA Award

MOUNT OLIVE – Justin Roe, University of Mount Olive assistant director of campus life, recently won the Shuronda H. Smith Outstanding New Professional Award at the National Association for Campus Activities South Regional Conference. The Conference was held in Winston-Salem.
The NACA South Shuronda H. Smith Outstanding New Professional Award is given out every year at the Fall Regional Conference.  Any new professional from the southern region, which starts in Maryland and goes all the way down into Florida, is eligible for the award.  The award is presented to the top new professional in the south region who has made the most impact at their respective university or college.
Roe graduated in 2009 from Keuka College with a double major in criminal justice and pre-law.  He then received his master’s degree in higher education & student personnel administration from the State University of New York-College at Buffalo.  Roe programmed the first ever Welcome Back Week at Keuka College in 2009 and has worked in new student orientation, student leadership, academic success, residence life, campus activities, and college athletics in his short career.
