Lenoir County Students Learn about Career Paths at UMO

Recently 35 high school students from the Lenoir County Public School System visited the University of Mount Olive.  The Tillman School of Business hosted the event as part of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Public School Days.   

“The purpose of the event was to expose local high school students to professional career tracks aligning with technical education,” said Dr. Ryan Douglas, Accounting, Finance, and Cybersecurity Department Chair. “ The importance of investing time and resources into encouraging students to pursue career paths vital to the future of the economy is invaluable.”

During the event, students were presented information about career tracks in aviation, accounting, finance, and cybersecurity. The had lunch on the campus and met UMO President Dr. H. Edward Croom.
