Maddox Named Advisor of the Year
MOUNT OLIVE – Dr. Sandy Maddox, director of the Lois G. Britt Agribusiness Center at University of Mount Olive, was recently recognized at University of Mount Olive’s Annual Awards Ceremony as the Advisor of the Year.
The Advisor of the Year Award is presented by the Student Government Association to the student organization advisor who shows the greatest willingness to work closely with students, helps get student involved, and who goes above and beyond the call of duty in working with the group. Dr. Maddox advises two clubs on campus and was described as, “approachable at all times, promoting self-reflection and has excellent ability to give much needed reality checks.”
In presenting the award Dan Sullivan, vice president for Student Affairs, said, “Dr. Maddox works hard to encourage her students, allowing them to make the decisions and plans, always encouraging them to own their clubs and experiences. It is her utter devotion to educating her students, not only in agriculture, but in how to be a moral person with a great emphasis on serving others.”
This is the third time that Dr. Maddox has been recognized for this honor. Dr. Maddox resides in Clinton, NC.
