
Martin Lecture Scheduled for April 10
MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive (UMO) will hold the 25th annual Martin Lecture on Tuesday, April 10 at 7:30 PM in the Southern Bank Auditorium in Raper Hall.
Dr. Michael Reiskind of the Public Health Entomology program at North Carolina State University will be the guest speaker. Reiskind will speak on the complex relationships surrounding mosquito ecology and the implications our changing climate will have upon mosquito-borne disease transmission.
Dr. E. Lee Glover, as a tribute to his former professor Lorelle F. Martin, established the Martin Lecture in 1993. Martin served for 30 years as Chair of the Department of Science and Mathematics at Mount Olive College before retiring in 1987.
