MOC to Hold Internastional Showfest

MOUNT OLIVE – University of Mount Olive (MOC) will host its seventh annual International Showfest on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. The event, sponsored by the University of Mount Olive International Club, will be held in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center at 7:30 p.m. Students will represent various countries with tables displaying information on their homelands and their cultures, as well as samples of authentic foods from around the world.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our international students to showcase their home countries and share their customs and cultures,” stated Julie Beck, Director of Student Activities at MOC and the event coordinator. “The International Club enjoys hosting this event so students and community members can learn about and experience other lifestyles and traditions.”

The International Showfest is an opportunity to taste, experience, and appreciate the variety of life in other countries. The event is free and the public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Julie Beck at 919-658-2502.
