Mount Olive College Prepares for Homecoming Weekend
MOUNT OLIVE- University of Mount Olive Homecoming 2011 is fast approaching and anticipation is growing on campus! The 46th Annual Pickle Classic tournament and Homecoming Weekend is set for November 18-19. The weekend will be filled with events for the community and students.
On Saturday, November 19, the women’s basketball team will compete against Chowan at 12:00 Noon in Kornegay Arena. The University of Mount Olive Athletics Hall of Fame will have an induction ceremony and dessert reception at 3:00 PM in Lois K. Murphy Regional Center. There will be an Alumni Pre-Game Pig Pickin’ competition among cook-off teams held at 5:30 PM under the Hospitality Tent. Teams battling for the tastiest pig include students, alumni, and friends. BBQ plates will be $10. A Fan Zone area will be setup with face painting, kettle corn, games and a DJ. The men’s basketball team will compete against Virginia State at 7:30 PM. The homecoming King and Queen will be announced at halftime.
