Obsidian Reading

The Department of Language and Literature is sponsoring an Obsidian: Literature in the African Diaspora Reading on March 15, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., in the Hennessee Room in the Lois K. Murphy Regional Center.
This will be the first reading to celebrate the publication of the special “North Carolina Writers of African Descent” issue of Obsidian: Literature in the African Diaspora, Volume 10, Issue 2, Fall/Winter 2009 and Volume 11, Issue 1, Spring/Summer 2010.
The following people will read their fiction and/or poetry from the special issue: Netia T. Raye, University of Mount Olive alumna; Sharon Mervin, University of Mount Olive student; Dr. Sheila Smith McKoy, NCSU Professor and Editor-in-Chief of Obsidian: Literature in the African Diaspora; and Lenard D. Moore, Assistant Professor of English at University of Mount Olive and Guest-editor of Obsidian: Literature in the African Diaspora, Volume 10, Issue 2, Fall/Winter 2009 and Volume 11, Issue 1, Spring/Summer 2010).
